As it came.

The following pictures show the beast as it was bought and delivered. Although it was in generally good condition it was obvious that it had been stood for quite a long time in a garage due to the fact it was full of dead spiders, and further investigations show that it had covered only 6 miles in the last 10 years !

When stripping it down there were other signs that it had not been used for a long time, but more on that later.

It looked reasonable but it’s not the Biancospiro it left Milan wearing !  For unknown reasons both rear footboards, only one side panel, the front mudguard and the bridge piece were powder coated, the rest were just sprayed black.

At some point in it’s life it had been treated to an Indian air scoop, box and filter carrier, although I can’t for the life of me understand why. OK, if you were fitting a big carb then yes, you might remove it, but not on this.

Legshields are most likely original and after blasting it’s clear that they have had holes brazed up at some point. Crash bars ?  The rear boards are suspiciously solid though and look a lot newer.

More pictures of black paint, but some original was left on the tank and flywheel cowl. The Indian air box sticks out like a sore thumb against it.

Headlight has also been replaced at some point.

Bit of surface rust and a broken spring or two, but nothing untoward and a pretty solid base to start with.

Lets start stripping it then !
